He stresses the need to learn the special techniques required to play the Shankh smoothly.

Three Types of Shankh

The video explains three primary types of Shankh, each with its unique characteristics. Identifying these types and understanding how to play them correctly is essential.

1. Shankh with a Broken Hole: This Shankh has a slight crack or break in its hole, which results in a different sound.
2. Shankh with Distortion: This type of Shankh has variations in its shape, leading to a different, distorted sound.
3. Standard Shankh: The standard Shankh has a uniform hole and produces a typical sound.

Mastering the Basics

To begin your journey with the Shankh, it's essential to grasp the basics:

1. Moistening the Shankh: Before playing, moisten the Shankh slightly with water. Also, moisten your lips.
2. Creating a Seal: Ensure that no air escapes between your lips and the Shankh's hole. This is crucial for producing a clean sound.

Shankh Techniques

The video elaborates on the specific techniques for playing each type of Shankh:

• Playing a Shankh with a Broken Hole:

1. Create a seal around the hole with your lips.
2. Blow air gently into the Shankh, ensuring no air leaks out.
3. This type of Shankh produces a unique, broken sound.

• Playing a Shankh with Distortion:

1. Similar to the previous technique, create a seal around the hole.
2. Blow air gently, focusing on maintaining the seal.
3. The distorted shape of the Shankh will result in a different, distorted sound.

• Playing a Standard Shankh:

1. Create a seal as before, but be more precise with your technique.
2. Blow air gently into the Shankh to produce a standard, soothing sound.

Advanced Techniques

For those looking to take their Shankh playing skills to the next level, the video introduces more advanced techniques:
