On this Independence Day, let us celebrate our freedom from foreign rule by seeking freedom from the material world. He explained that Krishna consciousness is not just a religion but a science of self-realization. It is a practical method for achieving true freedom.
On this Independence Day, let us take a step towards true freedom by learning about Krishna consciousness. Let us read the Bhagavad Gita and other Vedic scriptures. Let us chant the Hare Krishna mantra and associate with devotees of Krishna. Let us make Krishna the centre of our lives.
When we do these things, we will begin to experience the joy and peace of Krishna consciousness. We will become free from the material world and its problems. We will achieve true independence.

- Read the Bhagavad Gita. This ancient text contains the essence of Krishna consciousness.
- Chant the Hare Krishna mantra. This powerful mantra helps to purify the mind and connect us with Krishna.
- Associate with devotees of Krishna. Devotees of Krishna can help us to learn about Krishna consciousness and to practice it in our daily lives.
- Attend a Krishna consciousness centre. Krishna consciousness centres offer classes, workshops, and other programs to help us learn about Krishna consciousness.
