Translation
Refrain: Her body filled with pain, grief-stricken Radha has fallen, O Madhava, into the terrible darkness of separation from You. (1) Now that with beautiful sweet voices the cuckoos lament, "jaimini jaimini," (2) When She sees a garland of blue lotuses She mistakes it for a black snake. Frightened, and the hairs of Her body erect, She cries out, "Garuda! Garuda!" (3) When She sees musk or aguru, the poor girl thinks the god of love has appeared. To chase him away She becomes rapt in meditation on love's enemy, the peacock.
